Glutinous rice (Sticky rice) is a type of rice in which, due to its high starch content, the rice grains stick together completely when cooked - even more than with round grain rice ("milk rice", Japonica). Uncooked sticky rice is easy to recognize by the matt-white and, above all, completely opaque (not glassy) grains.
