About our privacy policy
4UStore cares deeply about your privacy. We therefore only process data that we need to (improve) our services and handle the information we have collected about you and your use of our services with care. We never make your data available to third parties for commercial purposes.
This privacy policy applies to the use of the website and the services accessed through it provided by 4UStore. The effective date for the validity of these terms is 02/12/2024. With the publication of a new version, the validity of all previous versions expires. This privacy policy describes which data about you is collected by us, what this data is used for, and with whom and under what conditions this data may be shared with third parties. We also explain how we store your data, how we protect your data from misuse, and what rights you have regarding the personal data you have provided to us.
If you have any questions about our privacy policy, you can contact our privacy contact person. You will find the contact details at the end of our privacy policy.
About data processing
Below you can read how we process your data, where we (have it) stored, which security techniques we use, and who has access to the data.
Webshop software
Our webshop is developed with Sylius. Personal data that you provide to us for the purpose of our services is shared with this party. Nedbase has access to your data to provide us with (technical) support; they will never use your data for any other purpose. Based on the agreement we have with them, Nedbase is required to take appropriate security measures. Nedbase uses cookies to collect technical information regarding your use of the software; no personal data is collected or stored.
Web hosting
We use the web hosting and email services of CloudVPS. CloudVPS processes personal data on our behalf and does not use your data for its own purposes. However, this provider may collect metadata about the use of its services. These are not considered personal data. CloudVPS has taken appropriate technical and organizational measures to prevent loss and unauthorized use of your personal data. CloudVPS is bound to confidentiality under the agreement we have with them.
Email and mailing lists
We use the services of Office 365 for our regular business email communications. This provider has taken appropriate technical and organizational measures to prevent abuse, loss, and corruption of your and our data as much as possible. Office 365 does not have access to our mailbox, and we treat all our email traffic confidentially.
Payment processors
To process (part of) the payments in our webshop, we use the Mollie platform. Mollie processes your name, address, and residence details, as well as your payment information such as your bank account or credit card number. Mollie has taken appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal data. Mollie reserves the right to use your data to further improve its services and, in that context, to share (anonymized) data with third parties. If you apply for deferred payment (credit facility), Mollie may share personal data and information regarding your financial position with credit rating agencies. All the above-mentioned safeguards with regard to the protection of your personal data also apply to the parts of Mollie’s services for which they engage third parties. Mollie does not retain your data longer than legally permitted.
Reviews
We collect reviews through the Kiyoh platform. If you leave a review via Kiyoh, you are required to provide your name, place of residence, and email address. Kiyoh shares this information with us so we can link the review to your order. Kiyoh also publishes your name and place of residence on its own website. In some cases, Kiyoh may contact you for clarification of your review. If we invite you to leave a review, we will share your name and email address with Kiyoh. They use this information only to invite you to write a review. Kiyoh has taken appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal data. Kiyoh reserves the right to engage third parties to deliver the service, for which we have given them permission. All the aforementioned safeguards with regard to the protection of your personal data also apply to the parts of Kiyoh’s services for which they engage third parties. Kiyoh retains your personal data as long as you keep your review published on the platform. Kiyoh has appointed a Data Protection Officer. You can find the contact details of this officer on Kiyoh’s website.
Shipping and logistics
When you place an order with us, it is our responsibility to have your package delivered to you. We use the services of DHL to handle deliveries. To that end, it is necessary that we share your name, address, and place of residence with DHL. DHL uses this information solely for the purpose of fulfilling the agreement. In cases where DHL engages subcontractors, DHL will also make your data available to these parties.
Invoicing and accounting
To manage our administration and accounting, we use the services of E-Boekhouden. We share your name, address, and residence details, along with information regarding your order. This data is used to keep records of sales invoices. Your personal data is transmitted and stored securely. E-Boekhouden is bound by confidentiality and will handle your data confidentially. E-Boekhouden does not use your personal data for any other purposes than those described above.
External sales channels
We sell (a portion of) our products via the platforms of Bol.com and Amazon. When you place an order through these platforms, Bol.com and Amazon share your order and personal data with us. We use this data to fulfill your order. We treat your data confidentially and have taken appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your data from loss and unauthorized use.
General purpose of processing
We use your data solely for the purpose of providing our services. This means the purpose of the processing is always directly related to the task you have assigned us. We do not use your data for (targeted) marketing. If you share data with us and we use this data to contact you at a later time—other than at your request—we will ask your explicit permission. Your data will not be shared with third parties, except to fulfill accounting and other administrative obligations. These third parties are all bound by confidentiality based on the agreement between them and us, or by an oath or legal obligation.
Automatically collected data
Data that is automatically collected by our website is processed with the aim of further improving our services. This data (such as your IP address, web browser, and operating system) does not contain personal information.
Cooperation with tax and criminal investigations
In some cases, 4UStore may be legally obliged to share your data in connection with government tax or criminal investigations. In such a case, we are required to cooperate and share the data, but we will oppose it within the limits of the law whenever possible.
Retention periods
We retain your data as long as you are a client of ours. This means we keep your customer profile until you indicate that you no longer wish to use our services. When you notify us of this, we will interpret it as a request to be forgotten. Based on applicable administrative obligations, we are required to retain invoices containing your (personal) data; we will therefore retain this data for as long as the applicable term runs. However, employees no longer have access to your client profile and any documents created in response to your assignment.
Your rights
Under applicable Dutch and European legislation, you as a data subject have certain rights with respect to the personal data that is processed by or on behalf of us. We explain below what these rights are and how you can invoke them.
To prevent misuse, we will, in principle, only send copies and transcripts of your data to your already known email address. If you wish to receive the data at another email address or by post, we will ask you to identify yourself. We keep records of completed requests; in the case of a request to be forgotten, we administer anonymized data. All copies and transcripts of data are provided to you in the machine-readable data format we use within our systems.
You have the right at any time to lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority if you suspect that we are misusing your personal data.
Right of access
You always have the right to inspect the data that we (have) process(ed) and that relates to your person or can be traced back to you. You can make a request to that effect to our privacy contact person. You will receive a response to your request within 30 days. If your request is granted, we will send you a copy of all the data at the email address known to us, including an overview of the processors who have access to this data, stating the category under which we have stored this data.
Right to rectification
You always have the right to have the data that we (have) process(ed) and that relates to your person or can be traced back to you, amended. You can make a request to that effect to our privacy contact person. You will receive a response to your request within 30 days. If your request is granted, we will send you a confirmation at the email address known to us that the data has been amended.
Right to restriction of processing
You always have the right to restrict the processing of data that we (have) process(ed) and that relates to your person or can be traced back to you. You can make a request to that effect to our privacy contact person. You will receive a response to your request within 30 days. If your request is granted, we will send you a confirmation at the email address known to us stating that the data will no longer be processed until you lift the restriction.
Right to data portability
You always have the right to have the data that we (have) process(ed) and that relates to your person or can be traced back to you, processed by another party. You can make a request to that effect to our privacy contact person. You will receive a response to your request within 30 days. If your request is granted, we will send you copies or transcripts of all the data about you that we have processed or that has been processed by other processors or third parties on our behalf, to the email address known to us. It is very likely that we will no longer be able to continue our services in such a case, as the secure interconnection of data files can then no longer be guaranteed.
Right to object and other rights
In some cases, you have the right to object to the processing of your personal data by or on behalf of 4UStore. If you object, we will immediately stop processing your data while your objection is being assessed. If your objection is justified, we will provide you with copies and/or transcripts of the data we (have) process(ed) and then permanently stop processing it.
You also have the right not to be subjected to automated individual decision-making or profiling. We do not process your data in such a way that this right applies. If you believe this is the case, please contact our privacy contact person.
