Kruidnoten, speculaas and gingerbread

Kruidnoten are small, crunchy spiced biscuits flavoured with cinnamon, cloves and nutmeg, and no Sinterklaas evening is complete without them. The Bolletje kruidnoten in 60 bags of 50 grams are perfect for handing out at school or in the office, while bakeries and markets can scoop from the Bolletje bakers' kruidnootjes in a 5 kg box. Speculaas, a thin spiced cookie, comes from Lotus in individually wrapped Sinterklaas portions and as De Molen speculaas figures.

Chocolate coins and marzipan

Children love finding a chocolate surprise in their shoe. Hamlet chocolate euro coins are the classic choice, and Ritter Sport marzipan bars are a treat for adults. Niederegger, the famous marzipan maker from Lübeck, offers loaves with dark chocolate, classic assortments and even a marzipan cake.

Sweets and wrapping for Sinterklaas evening

Schuttelaar figuurschuim, soft foam sweets in fun shapes, and Fortuin fruit hearts add colour to the treat bowl. For the traditional surprises and poems you need good wrapping: red and gold ribbon, red sealing tape and transparent cellophane bags to fill with sweets. Duni Sint and Piet napkins finish the festive table.
